Reading Rainbow

The Reading Rainbow program made available by PBS is a great way to get young children motivated to read. Although I don't see it often, I remember it airing on Guam. Because we are becoming used to technology, I think it would be a good idea to integrate multimedia during our reading activities. Making books seem alive can be done through technology.

  1. This is one of my favorite kid's reading program. I agree with you Tish, these days kids are really in to technology so I think it will be a good idea to integrate multimedia during reading activities. I think the kids will really enjoy reading more.

  2. That is a very sound suggestion. I saw a very young child in a shopping cart, watching something on her iPad while the mum was stocking up the grocery. No books in print any more!

  3. Its a good idea to integrate multimedia into reading to enhance the reading but what is lost is imagination and creativity because children are expose on content that is already made not content they made. I'm on both sides of the fence in this one. What happens if there is no more power on your devices will children stop reading?

    1. Exactly. That would be interesting for people who are so much dependent on these devices. I certainly freaked out when we lost power recently because we had assignments due that day. Well, there's always a price to pay.
