Never Give Up.

Illustration and quote from: MotiveWeight.Blogspot.com

We always think that giving up is the best option when things go bad. When we teach, and see students not picking up our lessons we tend to somehow feel helpless and worse is we feel like giving up already.  The quote would like to bring up the inner you, to never give up in whatever challenges you have no matter how impossible it may be. It may be taxing for us educators to teach a student who have no regard for education but once you have helped them see the light and see progress, then you must be proud of yourself for being an effective teacher, for not letting down your student in spite and despite of the challenges you’ve been through to teach him/her because at the end of the day, their achievements reflects what teacher have we been to them.

  1. Thank you for sharing Mark! I like this quote and the animated picture! It is very true, we tend to quickly think of giving up whenever we face with some challenges. I was feeling exactly like what you said my first time teaching back home. I didn't want to go back the next day. I really didn't know what happened but I went and I tried a different approach and method with my students. A week later there was a big difference and I could see the progress. At the time I couldn't explain the feeling I felt.

We have to know and understand that it will not be easy but we have to keep our heads high and face our every challenges as they come. Try a different approach or method if the first one didn't work. That is what teaching is all about.

  2. I like that quote, too. That reminds me of Dr. Rivera's PEA activity towards the last semester in ED481G. To be able to possess genuine positive attitude towards oneself is really important in learning and beyond it. We can boost it by having self confidence and by having positively supportive people around us.
